Canadian duo Purity Ring have dropped some visual material from their forthcoming long
player, Shrines. This is the first official video from the duo and it’s
for a familiar song from Corin and Megan, “Belispeak.” The Directing duties

Shepard Fairey & Glen E. Friedman MCA Tribute (Los Angeles)
Images via the artist

It’s been just under a month since the passing of legendary
artist/musician Adam Yauch (MCA) of the Beastie Boys and the tributes have been
popping up around the world. Recently Shepard Fairey put up several tribute pieces
around the Los Angeles area that utilize iconic counterculture photographer
Glen E. Friedman’s shot of the band with the words “Posse In Effect, R.I.P. MCA

Listen: Childish Gambino Featuring Beck – “Silk Pillow”
So this is pretty random. Childish Gambino and Beck have
teamed up for “Silk Pillow,” which will presumably appear on the rappers
forthcoming mixtape. Beck not only raps on the tune but co-produced it with
Gambino as well adding some major credibility to the project for those that need it. I know I keep on
saying this but really now, how many cuts from this project are going to leak
before we get the full album?
Video: Kilian Martin – Altered Route (a Skate Film)
Freestyle street skater Kilian Martin and filmmaker BrettNovak have once again teamed up to create Altered Route (a Skate Film)
sponsored by Mercedes-Benz. The short conceptual video is full of spectacular moments as Killian
adds a lot of fun and whimsy to his tricks. Check out the Spaniard interacting with his
environment at an abandoned water park, inspirational stuff for sure.
Video: El-P - "The Full Retard"
It’s been a busy day in the world of music videos and it doesn’t seem like it’s going to calm down just yet. El-P drops his first audio visual treatment from his just released Cancer For Cure Lp. I’ve already stated my allegiance to the record and if you haven’t heard it yet make sure you do so ASAP. Directed by Timothy Saccenti, “The Full Retard,” see’s El and a furry friend raising hell in NYC, taking part in all the classics, including drug use, partying, guns, hookers, violence and more.
Video: M83 - "Reunion"
M83 released the latest visuals from 2011’s Hurry Up We’re
Dreaming track “Reunion.” Directed by Fleur
& Manu, the striking video continues the storyline from the video for "Midnight City" as a group of paranormal children
go to battle. Watch out for an AdamYauch tribute 48 seconds or so in.
Video: Florence & The Machine - "Spectrum"
Florence& The Machine return with a new visual for their single
"Spectrum" which was featured on their 2011 LP, Ceremonials. The video
was handled by David LaChapelle and John Byrne so it all looks very shiny and decadent.
Video: Jay-Z & Kanye West – "No Church In The Wild”
The latest visuals from Kanye
West and Jay-Z’s joint LP Watch
The Throne are here and it’s for the truly great album opener “No Church In The Wild” featuring
Odd Future’s Frank Ocean. The clip was
directed by Roman Gavras, who if you recall, directed M.I.A’s "Bad Girls" video. What I didn’t know until now, is that Roman was born in
Athens Greece, which could have easily served as inspiration for this video
given the country’s current political state. Anyway the video is shot incredibly well
giving it an epic feel with a elephant thrown in towards the end just to remind
you these guys are kind of a big deal.
Watch: Grand Theft Auto III: 10 Year Anniversary Edition - Trailer (feat. "O Mio Babbino Caro" remix by Hudson Mohawke)
Rockstar Games announced a re-release of the infamous classic video game Grand Theft Auto III for mobile devices on the 10th Anniversary since the original. The trailer for the release features a huge (tired of using that word to describe this guy's music but it really is fitting) remix the opera classic "O Mio Babbino Caro" by Hudson Mohawke who's EP Satin Panthers featured some of our favorite party tracks from last year and recent production work for Azealia Banks and Kanye West found us breaking our necks in delight. Watch the trailer below or if you'd rather listen to the track without the trailer bits click here. For more of HudMo's remix work check out his rework of this Battles track and Bjork's "Virus".

Listen: Summer Camp – “Always”
Several weeks back we shared something new from retro pop
act SummerCamp in the form of “Life” off of the soon to be released Always EP. Today we bring you the title track, a slice of
synth-pop with a driving beat and the trade mark split vocals and breeziness
the band is known for, listen below...
Listen: Azealia Banks – “1991″
Harlem MC Azeilia Banks returns with “1991” the title track
from her new ep produced by American electronic artist Machinedrum. This one isn’t
as fun as the steel drums and circus vibe of “Jumanji” but the rapper spits her
rhymes with equal furry over the the dub meets dancehall vibe. The 1991 EP is out today digitally and 6/12
physically via Interscope. It’s a
package that also includes the previously released “212” and “Liquorice.” Her
mixtape, Fantastic, is out July 4th, and apparently the aforementioned “Jumanji”
will find a home there.

fun stories to share in regards to the collection including one about some amateur
porn he found rummaging through his neighbor’s curbside trash.

Last week we got to hear the Heems-featuring cut, “Tell Me,” this week Childish Gambino lets loose another new

tracks to leak.

Chromatics have released their 6th video from the truly
great Kill For Love LP. "These Streets Will Never Look the Same" was
shot on videotape live on location in Las Vegas, Mexico City and Montreal. Once

Video: Quakers – “Fitta Happier”
Quakers
are back with their most high budget video to date. “Fitta Happier,” featured some months back as a
stream, guest’s Guilty Simpson & M.E.D. The clip was directed by Eric Coleman and indirectly samples Radiohead’s
“The National Anthem” by way of marching band. Quakers is a 35-person hip-hop
collective, centered around three producers - Fuzzface (Geoff Barrow), Katalyst
(Ashley Anderson), and 7Stu7 (Stuart Matthews). Quakers 41-track album is out
now on Stones Throw.

Listen: Childish Gambino Ft. Heems – “Tell Me” (Radio Rip)
It’s been about a week, which means yet another ChildishGambino tune has leaked. This one features Heems from Das Racist
and is titled “Tell Me”. Like many of
the recent drops “Tell Me” signifies a change in sound for the rapper. What
ever the case two of my favorite MC’s collaborating is always a good thing. Check
the radio rip out below…

Listen: Liars – “Octagon”
The new Liars album, “WIXIW” (pronounced "wish
you") is just around the corner from being released. We have shared the excellent
“No.
1 Against the Rush” with you as well as a video on the recording process
just earlier this week. Seems the band
dropped another tune for our listening pleasure in the form of “Octagon.” Much
like “No. 1” the song lives in an electronic world more so than the rock one
that the band is known for. WIXIW is
out 4 June 2012 (UK) / June 5 (USA) and has artwork designed by John Weise, you
can pre order the CD, deluxe vinyl (with CD) and limited edition vinyl with
silk screened embossed covers hand dipped in black wax by the band HERE. Check out the tune below or over

Shepard Fairey – “Ebony Magazine – Trayvon Martin”
Shepard created this artwork a few months ago for a
commission by Ebony Magazine. Although he was not able to show the artwork until the issue
hit newsstands this week. “I have followed Trayvon’s case closely and I think
any compassionate human being can relate to Trayvon as a brother or son and
would want to see a thorough investigation into the killing of an unarmed
person. In my portrait I wanted to emphasize Trayvon’s humanity as well as the
public outcry for a just investigation into his death.

Video: Afghan Whigs – “I’m Her Slave” Live on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon

night on "LateNight With Jimmy Fallon". This marks the Cincinnati band’s first
public appearance in 13 years and you can watch the web exclusive of "I'm

Congregation LP, with a little help from ?uestlove

SleighBells are back with another video from their sophomore LP Reign of Terror. "Demons" was directed by
the band's Derek Miller along with Gregory Kohn
and features footage from live shows in Omaha, Oklahoma City, Dallas, and
Houston. It was apparently inspired by classic Pantera videos.

Video: Liars - WIXIW (A Short Film)
The new Liars album, “WIXIW” (pronounced "wish

very, very excellent “No. 1 Against the Rush” with you so far and if it is any
indication of what the rest of the album will sound like than I have a midyear
guess for what my favorite LP of 2012 just
might be. WIXIW is out 4 June 2012 (UK) / June 5 (USA) and has artwork designed

Video: Woodkid – “Run Boy Run”
We first shared some music and visuals from Yoann Lemoine’s Woodkid
project a year ago in the form of the excellent “Iron”. In that year Lemoine‘s
star has grown brighter with his Lana Del Rey video’s and remix’s and although
Yoann was already known for his sleak music videos for the likes of Katy Perry, and Moby he is poised to make
Woodkid just as successful in it's own right. Check out the breathtaking video

Kaws Balloon To Appear At Macys Thanksgiving Parade
Here is some exciting news from KAWS. The former graffiti
turned contemporary artist has been asked to contribute a balloon to Macys
famous Thanksgiving parade this November. Donnelly will join Jeff Koons and Takashi Murakami in the exclusive hundred-feet-high club for artists whose work has floated in the event. The artists trademark Companion will
be the adapted character for the project, more specifically a recent rendition who
sits with gloved hands covering his face, as if he were ashamed or crying.
“I grew up in Jersey City, watching the parade on TV,” Mr.
Donnelly said. “It was more important than the holiday itself. To have my character
in a lineup with Snoopy and Kermit is a real dream.”

Listen: Childish Gambino – “We Ain’t Them”
Yet another new Childish Gambino song to share this evening
in the form of “We Ain’t Them.” Gambino pulling the double duty with this one
acting as vocalist and co-producer. There is a definite change in direction in
these last couple of songs, things seem to have gotten more serious. What say's you?
Listen: Summer Camp - "Life"
Retro pop act Summer Camp are returning with a new EP

Video: El-P (ft. Nick Diamonds) – “Stay Down” On David Letterman May 15, 2012
Master producer El-P stopped by the Late Show with David
Letterman last night to promote his forthcoming record. El brought Islands frontman Nick Diamonds along to do “Stay Down,” a song from his excellent new
album Cancer For Cure, due out next week. Diamonds guested on vocals and synth,
alongside El’s live band who have the difficult task of recreating the ultra
layered bombastic beats that El is known for in a live setting, thankfully they
killed it.
Listen: Yeasayer - "Henrietta"
Two weeks ago, Yeasayer announced a summer tour on their website with a cryptic teaser tag saying “NEW SONGS?” Well, as hinted, here is at least one new song from the band in the form of “Henrietta”. This fits in nicely with Yeasayer’s existing sound, flexing the things they do better than most in the soaring melodies and harmonizing. Good timing for those summer days that lie ahead.

Listen: HEALTH - "Tears"
Man oh man have I
been waiting for this to drop ever since it was announced some months back. Los
Angles noise band HEALTH created the score for Rockstar Games latest blockbuster
franchise release, Max Payne 3, which drops today. If you have seen the
onslaught of commercials for the game on TV and are a HEALTH fan like me than
it goes without saying that the 2 minutes of “Tears” have been a very big tease
and left you wanting more. Available today via iTunes, you can download the single
tune for a dollar, or for the gamers out there, as part of the special edition
packaging of the game which includes the score in its entirety. It’s a pretty
breathtaking tune in my opinion and having not heard the full album yet makes
we want more. For those who don’t want
to shell out a full $100 just to get the score (maybe you aren’t a gamer) have
no fear as it will be available in its entirety on May 23rd via iTunes and in
the future as a physical vinyl release. Unfortunately I don’t know the details
of the vinyl drop yet or even how long the score clocks in at but you can be
sure I will feverishly continue to track down the info and share it with our
readers. For now enjoy all 4 plus minutes of lead song “Tears” below….
Listen: Azealia Banks - "Jumanji" (prod. by Hudson Mohawke and Nick Hook)
Azeilia Banks, the twitter happy, immensely talented female rapper with an attitude (problem?) knows how to pick her producers. In the recent past she's worked with likes of bass music all stars such as Lone and Machinedrum, yet on her latest single she enlisted recent Kanye West collaborator Hudson Mohawke, alongside Nick Hook, to deliver one of the most massive beats you've heard being rhymed over in a long long time. HudMo's even got tympanies and steel drums in the same song! The whole affair sounds like an over the top hip-hop circus act. Listen to or download "Jumanji" below:

With “Unnecessary” Gambino goes for something a little darker than we are used

A couple weekends back, at a private house party at
