ever so slightly altered version of the Acid Rap original.

Listen: The Weeknd – “Love In The Sky”
Abel Tesfaye latest offering to the public under his Weeknd
moniker is a tune called “Love In The Sky.” The song marks the third track we
have now heard from the forthcoming Kiss land LP, which is due out September 10th,
and is a rather straightforward affair compared to June’s offering of “Belongto the World.”

Listen: TV On The Radio - "Mercy"
TV On The Radio returns with new cut that makes its debute on band member Dave Sitek’s Federal Prism label. “Mercy” is a fast tempo song high on energy and probably the most straight froward rock i've heard the band produce in quite some time.
At the moment the Brooklyn band don't plan to release an LP in the traditional sense, opting to instead just release singles until they are ready to change it up, let's hope there is more to come in the very near future.

Video: Volcano Choir - "Byegone"
Volcano Choir,
the side project featuring Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon and Wisconsin
post-rock act Collections of Colonies of Bees, have shared the music video for "Byegone." The clip was directed by Michinori Saigo and features what
appears to be some instillation art that utilizes a tree. In a funny way it’s
kind of like watching tree porn or something. Repave is out
September 3rd via Jagjaguwar.

Fiona Apple returns to the scene today with a new music
video from her 2012 LP, The Idler
Wheel. "Hot Knife"
was directed by Hollywood heavyweight Paul Thomas Anderson who
once dated Apple and has worked on a healthy chunk of her earlier clips. Fiona

Listen/Download: ”Childish Gambino – “Centipede”
It’s been a minute since we heard anything new from Childish Gambino
and having recently announced that he would be cutting back on acting to focus
on music we get a taste of what’s to come with “Centipede.” It’s a pretty long
track clocking in at six minutes but Gambino most certainly makes good use of
the time production wise as the track changes in tone several times in its
course. Listen to/download below…
Video: Washed Out – “Don't Give Up”
Last month we shared a stream of Washed Out’s “Don’t Give Up” which is set to appear on
upcoming LP Paracosm, due out August 13th on Sub Pop. Today we can post the
Kate Moroos video that features some beautiful close up's of animals that were
filmed at the ZSL London Zoo.

Video: “The Revenge of the Beasts”
You know those sports commercial’s that shoot everything so
it’s in slow motion and all epic looking once edited? Well “The Revenge of the
Beasts” is a five-minute skate film that is composed entirely of such
breathtaking moments. Using hypnotic slow-motion footage, Sebastian Linda has created a film that he
says tries to bring back the fantasy of skateboarding. Using high-end cameras and
unconventional methods of shooting, like eliminating tripods and dollies in
favor of a skateboard, a car and natural body movement, the results are top
notch and complemented perfectly by Woodkid’s score.
BONUS:
In the making of video below Sebastian shares the though process and vision behind the film as well as some anecdotes about the colored powder and long brutal days of trying to get a trick captured on film under perfect lighting conditions.

Video: Austra – “Painful Like”
Austra’s “Painful Like” gets the video treatment from a cat
who goes by the name of Exploding Motor Car. Classic B-movie thriller action in
the one, think Mad Max on rollerblades with some puppet work thrown in for good
measure.

Video: Hot Sugar - Leverage (feat. KOOL AD + Fat Tony + Lakutis + Nasty Nigel)
We have shared a couple video’s from Nick Koening’s Hot Sugar project over the
last year and those hungry for more tunes should be happy to hear that the New
York beat maker has been hard at work on some new material for us all to sink
our teeth into in the very near future, but for the time being here is a video
for “Leverage” featuring Kool A.D., Fat Tony, Lakutis and Nasty Nigel from the
excellent and still free MiDi Murder EP that was directed by Jay Sprogell.
Listen: Forest Swords - “The Weight of Gold"
Last month we shared the first taste of Forest Swords
upcoming debut LP on Tri Angle records via “Thor’s Stone.” Today we got a
second sampling from the recording alias of the Merseyside, U.K. native who
birth name is Matthew Barnes by the name of “Weight of Gold.” If you like what you have heard so far you can
pick up the record which is entitled Engravings when it is released next month on
Aug. 26 HERE.
Video: Inara George - "No one Knows" (QOTSA Cover)
I usually find this type of releases gimmicky by nature,
take a popular rock song and essentially turn it into some easy listening
experience where fans of the original can wink and nod at each other in some
sort of irony based approval; but uncovered project seems to be a little more
sincere in its execution and even features some Onomatopoeia favorites. Producer Olivier Libaux’s (Nouvelle Vague) concept
behind the record is to take choice tracks from across Queens Of the Stone Age‘s
discography and turn them into female vocal-driven bossanova renditions. Take a
look at the video for "No One Knows", as sang by Inara George to get a taste as
well as an album preview and if you like what you hear you can order the
limited edition lP which features Alela Diane, Rosmary Standley, Katherine
Whalen, Youn Sun Nah and many more HERE.

Video: Earl Sweatshirt – “Hive” feat. Vince Staples & Casey Veggies
Odd Future’s Earl Sweatshirt is gearing up to release his new album, Doris, next
month on the 20th and in anticipation he dropped the second video from the
highly anticipated record via the Vince Staples and Casey Veggies featuring “Hive.”
Earl usually goes one of two ways with his rhymes and videos, dark or humorous, "Hive" goes the dark route in the Hiro Murai directed clip…
Video: Run The Jewels – “36” Chain”
El-P and Killer Mike have shared the first video from
their excellent Run The Jewels project in the form of "36" Chain." The video was
directed by Timothy Saccenti,
who’s worked with El in the past, and see’s the duo kicking down doors in their
quest to find and rescue a kidnapped Mr. Killums. Keep your eyes peeled for cameos
from Andrew W.K., ex-Das Racist members, Amber Tamblyn and more.

Video: The Weeknd - "Belong To The World"
The Weeknd has shared another new tune and video from his
forthcoming LP Kiss Land, this one is called “Belong To The World” and samples
Portishead’s “Machine Gun.” The sci-fi inspired visuals come courtesy of
Anthony Mandler who has done some equally cinematic work for Lana Del Rey.

Video: Think Talk – “Banksy Interview”
In the latest episode of Adult Swim’s Think Talk Banksy talks about a wide
range of topics including the importance of breakfast, boy bands, graffiti and
KAWS. I’m not quite sure how serious he’s being about everything in the
three-minute interview but it seems to be in good fun and any footage of the legendary Brit is always exciting.

Video: Kanye West - "Black Skinhead"
Kanye West drops his first video from his recently released
Yeezus LP in the form of "Black
Skinhead." The clip features an animated Kanye doing his
thing as well as the barking Doberman’s that opened his SNL performance of the
same song.
Video: KAWS redesigns MTV's Moonman
Kaws recently shared some footage of his redesigned MTV Moonman
for the 2013 MTV Video
Music Awards which will be held in Brooklyn at the Barclays Center come
August 25h. This is the first time the silver spaceman has been altered
in its 30 years but doesn't mark a permanent change as there is no plan to make
the face-lift the standard for the next 30 years.
"That's what I liked about the project; I wouldn¹t want
to redesign it for history, I like the idea that at this moment, this first
time in Brooklyn, the Moonman's going to change," he said. "I like
the fact that, 40 or 60 artists will win this piece, and the majority won't
know anything about my work. [And] I'm sure you'll have artists that are mad;
they have their perfect chrome line of Moonmen and I've somehow ruined that
symmetry ... I love that idea."

Video: The Art Of Punk - Episode 3: Dead Kennedys
From the chaotic, surreal, madness, of collage mixed with
political folly that blazed their LP's and gig flyers; to the razor edge ultra-simplistic
DK symbol that is still lovingly displayed on shirts across the world today, the
latest episode of The Art Of Punk focuses on San Francisco punk band legends, the Dead Kennedys. In the fourteen minute video Jello Biafra discusses his own
warped inspiration for the many sleeves and often controversial posters created
in the early days of the band. We also meet pop surrealist artist Tim Biskup who
chimes in about how the DK's affected and twisted his own young mind. And finally we meet up with master collage
artist, and designer of the DK's symbol, Winston Smith in his North Beach art
studio, where he talks about how he was drawn into the early Bay Area punk
scene - and his long and creative artist relationship with the Dead Kennedy's
and Jello Biafra.

Listen/Download: The Underachievers – “The Proclamation”
Brainfeeder rapper’s The Underachievers return with some new
material to follow up the first class Indigoism mixtape from earlier this year.
The two Flatbush rappers composed of AK and Issa Dash are apparently dropping
an EP produced by Lex Luger in August and today we get a taste of it via the
Rolling Stones sampled “The Proclamation” which lucky for us has been made available
by the duo to download for free.

Onomatopoeia Exclusive Download: Perestroika - "Reach For The Coffee"
It’s been a moment since Chambaland and I released any new mashups under code-name Perestroika so we recently got together at one of our secret bases and decided to put our heads together to come up with some new combinations for y’all. Since its Uncle Sam’s birthday here in the U.S. we figured why not share them throughout the week in celebration of July 4th this Thursday.
But wait!
You thought we forgot about Canada Day didn't you? Don't be silly, we would never forget our friends to the north today as they too celebrate so we decided to lead things off with “Reach For The Coffee” combining rhymsmith Aesop Rock with the recently resurfaced Boards of CANADA. Give it a spin below, download it, share it with friends and family and don't be afraid to let us know what you think.
