Video: TV On The Radio – “Million Miles”
After debuting new material in the form of “Mercy” last
month TV On The Radio share another song in the form of “Million Miles.” As
reported the Brooklyn band don't plan to release an LP in the
traditional sense, opting to instead just release singles until feel
like doing otherwise. TVOTR’s Kype
Malone handles directing duties in the video featuring a disgruntled
environmental activist/TV host-turned-drug evangelist.

Video: Mount Kimbie – “Home Recording”
Mount Kimbie dropped a new video earlier in the week for “Home Recording,” the
duo most certainly refined their sound on the Cold Spring Fault Less Youth album,
vocals took much more of a center stage then in the past drawing them
comparisons to fellow countrymen James Blake at times. Kai Campos, one half of
the duo, said the band aimed to “create something that was bigger than the
locations it was shot in” with the video.
Listen/Download: Death Grips- "Birds"
The always controversial Death Grips shared a new called "Birds" which can be streamed and
downloaded below. There is a little less bark in the vocal delivery on this one
but still plenty of interesting noisy effects going on musically; overall I would
say this slowed down take is different for the group but still uniquely them.

Video: Childish Gambino – “Clapping For the Wrong Reasons” Feat. Flying lotus, Chance The Rapper, Trinidad Jame$ & more.
After teasing at such a project several weeks back we now have the director’s cut of Childish Gambino’s
24-minute short film titled “Clapping For The Wrong Reasons” The short features
Donald himself, Chance The Rapper,
Flying Lotus, Trinidad Jame$, and several other Gambino collaborators and
friends . The film falls someplace in-between truth and fiction it would seem
with parts functioning as a preview of sorts to new Gambino music while other
moments seem to focus on scripted narrative about life, relationships, dreams
and more. Things get pretty strange during the last third when Gambino pulls a
tooth out of his nostril in a scene that wouldn't be out of place in a horror
film. Weird stuff but well worth the watch if you are a fan and another
interesting chapter from Glover’s creative repertoire.

Video: These New Puritans – “Organ Eternal”
Willy Vanderperre handles directing duties on the latest video from U.K. band, These New Puritans. “Organ Eternal” was a Field
Of Reeds highlight for me and the video maintains that same polished feel and
attention to the dramatic that the Puritans have consistently delivered with
each release.

Video: Youth Lagoon – “Raspberry Cane”
Trevor Powers unleashed the latest set of visuals from 2013’s
sophomore LP, Wondrous Bughouse. “Raspberry Cane” is a trippy animated affair
filled with strange giant creatures that could call a Jim Henson production
home, a perfect complement to the music; directed by Stephen McNally…

independence. Lonely Island’s Jorma
Taccone makes an appearance…

Brainfeeder rappers the Underachievers team up with Kidsuper
for a combination music video fashion lookbook in a bit of cross promotion that
utilizes the duo’s choice cut “Land of the Lords” from their massive Indigoism mixtape,
directed by Sean Phazes.
Listen: Jon Hopkins: "Breathe This Air" Featuring Purity Ring
Well this is a treat, Jon Hopkins has enlisted Purity Ring's Megan James to provide vocals for a alternate version of
"Breathe This Air" from his Immunity LP, I say a treat because the tune was already by
far my favorite tune on the album so this is just a bonus as far as I’m
concerned. A limited-edition 12"will be available at Purity Ring and
Hopkins' shows at Los Angeles' Henry Fonda Theater on August 27 and 28. (175
copies will be given away for free per night).
The 12" will also feature Hopkins' remix of Purity Ring's "Amenamy" making it a great little score if you manage to get one.

Video: Kavinsky - "Odd Look"
Kavinsky saves the day in the video for “Odd Look” off his
recently released debut LP, Outrun. This is some straight up 80’s action here
and it’s something Kavinsky often calls out in his video’s and sound with great results, you
have to love that it opens with the Frenchman’s biggest hit playing out of the Testarossa’s
speakers.

one of their contributions to the recently released Italians Do It Better compilation After Dark 2. As
pretty much is always the case with a Jewel related video the footage was captured by Alberto Rossini while the band was in Ibiza touring with the Chromatics.

Video: animal Collective - "Monkey Riches'
Animal Collective shared their latest video from 2012′s head
trip, Centipede Hz . “Monkey Riches” is pretty much as odd of a video as the
music that is it playing companion to; in the six minute clip director Jack Kubizne shares the misadvebtures of a
bedridden wizard played by actor Martin Pfefferkon.
Video: MGMT - "Your Life Is a Lie"
MGMT are gearing up to release their new self titled
LP on September 17th and their first video from the record is up and live. The humorous
"Your Life is
a Lie" was directed by Tom Kuntz who’s own homepage made me chuckle
with its intro audio.
I wasn't the biggest fan of the bands last lp but this
single, although straightforward, is pretty fun.

Video: FKA Twigs – “Water Me”
U.K. singer Twigs, who recently
changed her name to FKA Twigs at the request of an artist who shares the same
name, has got a new tune and video out today by the name of “Water Me.” Like “How’s That” the song was co-written by Arca and sports a fantastically moody beat for
the unique looking songstress to lay down her sultry vocals. “Water Me” is taken from FKA Twigs' EP2 which
will be released on the 9th of September
2013 via Young Turks. Jesse Kanda handles directing duties once again on the simple yet
striking video…
