Video: Heems – “Sometimes”

Former Das Racist emcee, Heems, teamed up with Adult Swim for a video for Eat Pray Thug track  “Sometimes.” The satirical video features Eric Andre, Hannibal Buress and fellow Das Racist member Dapwell in the setting of an infomercial aimed towards products that can change your skin color and improve your life.

Back in November I shared some new music from former Das Racist emcee Heems in the form of “New York”; a song that the rapper said was a leftover of sorts from his forthcoming LP. Eat Pray Thug. Today I can share the first official single from the record titled “Sometimes.” The tune was produced by Gordon Voidwell and apparently is about dualities, identity and the space between spaces. Look for Eat Pray Thug to drop on March 10th.

Former Das Racist emcee Heems shared a track titled “New York” today. The tune was produced by Heems, Patrick Wimberly and Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson and is a “leftover” from his forthcoming LP, working title, Eat Pray Thug. The LP is scheduled to drop sometimes early next year and reportedly features Dev Hynes and Hudson Mohawke amongst others.

Video: Heems - "Soup Boys (Pretty Drones)" Alternate Video

Heems decided to release a second video for the Lushlife produced “Soup Boys (Pretty Drones)”. Make no mistake that this was intentionally released today on President Obama’s inauguration as Himanshu does his thing in front of footage of drones blowing up various military targets around the world.

Heems has a big year despite his former group, Das Racist, recently announcing their break up.  Having recently dropped his second mixtape of 2012, Wild Water Kingdom we now get a video for the standout Lushlife produced “Soup Boys (Pretty Drones).” The visuals focus on the emcee’s recent travels overseas.

Heems was supposed to drop his Wild Water Kingdom mixtape today but understandably due to Hurricane Sandy the release date has been delayed. To keep the fans happy Heems has graciously offered up a new cut titled “Soup Boys (Pretty Drones),” which features production from Lushlife, check it below…

Next week, Heems will release his new mixtape Wild Water Kingdom via Greedhead., it’s about two weeks late but hey it’s free so stop your complaining already! We’ve already heard “Let It Go” and “Killing Time” and today Heems put out another cut for us to enjoy called “Cowabunga Gnarley” that features production from Harry Fraud.

Last month, we told you about the upcoming mixtape from Das Racist's Heems, Wild Water Kingdom, and shared the Echo and the Bunnymen sampling "Killing Time" from it. Today we got a second cut from the tape entitled “Let It Go” " that features some  always welcomed Indian music sampling production from Keyboard Kid, as well as a guest spot from Cee Gee. The tape drops October 15, via Greedhead.

Das Racist are planning to release a follow-up to last year's Relax in early 2013, but for now Himanshu, aka Heems, has a new mixtape on the way.  Wild Water Kingdom is set for release this fall and will feature contributions from the likes of Diplo, Le1f, Harry Fraud, and more; this track from the tape features production from BLKHRTS' Yorissey and samples "Killing Moon" from Echo & The Bunnymen.

Video: Kool A.D. - "Gwyneth Paltrow" (ft. Himanshu)

“Gwyneth Paltrow”  featuring Himanshu is the latest video from Kool A.D. but I don't believe the track appears on the mc's second mixtape, 51, which dropped back in April  featuring production solely from West coast beat makers.   Keeping with that West Coast vibe Kool uses Kendrick Lamar and Dr. Dre’s “The Recipe”as the back beat for this one. The Das Racist rapper also returns to the found footage format that he has relied on in the past, this time using a creepy film of two Avant-garde performers wearing clay masks. Enjoy the music, the visuals and the nightmares!
