Video: Thomas Campbell prepping for NYC show



Santa Cruz-based artist Thomas Campbell opened a show at The Half Gallery in New York City about 2 weeks ago, which was his first showing about in NYC in about 10 years.  While prepping for the show he stayed at the trendy Standard Hotel in the East Village and put some finishing touches on his pieces.

To commemorate the show and his stay, The Standard released a little behind-the-scenes video discussing some of Campbell's thought process and inspiration.

His show entitled "Capture and Release" will be be showing at The Half Gallery until Jan. 30, 2012.

Kaws – “Passing Through” @ The Standard (New York)






















Kaws will be showing  his sitting companion statue showcased recently at the The Aldrich Contemporary Museum in NY's meatpacking district of Manhattan. Much like the Hong Kong Passing Through exhibition, which this sculpture first premiered, the figure will be accompanied by a mini-exhibition featuring a collection of sketches, toys and other Original Fake goodies created by Kaws for those to enjoy. This show will be available for viewing starting today June 8th and will run until October.
