"Venus of Cupertino" - iPad docking station

This alone would make me want to buy an iPad or generously accept one from a nice fan of the site.... just saying.  The Venus of Cupertino is the creation of digital sculptor Scott Eaton and is a fully functional docking station for an iPad generation 1 or 2 (completely works with synching and charging).  It is odd yet beautiful, like a chubby cherub Greek statue. These were 3D printed from a digital design, a process honestly I am not all that familiar with.

Video: "Gary"

"Gary" is a nice little 7-min short animation about a little boy lusting after older women as we all did. He doodles an older version of himself which comes to life and to his chagrin starts canoodling with the very girl Gary had his eyes on. The animation is an interesting mix of 2D & 3D and utilizes a lot of interesting techniques. It's a short watch you can check out when your boss isn't looking.

Here is a quick little experimental animation entitled "Press +" created by Melbourne-based animator Benjamin Ducroz. It is a mixture of 3D, watercolor, ink & paper and is nothing too epic, but something nice to trip out to.

Video: The Minotaur at The Old Vic Tunnels

Dining experiences and design keep coming together at the moment, in increasingly ambitious spaces.

For The Minotaur, the Lazarides Gallery has sought out Kofler & Kompanie, the company behind Pret A Diner - one of the forerunners of temporary dining spaces - which has been popping up with Michelin chefs all over Europe since 2004.

the theme is the Greek legend and the art shares in the subject with work from David Choe, Stanley Donwood, Jonathan Yeo, Antony Micallef, Conor Harrington, Doug Foster, 3D, Ian Francis, ATMA, Michael Najjar and Lucy McLauchlan placed withing a labyrinth-like setting.
