After a bunch of internal issues apparently plaguing the project, Supreme‘s brand new skate promo finally arrives courtesy of William Strobeck. “JOYRIDE” lasts nine minutes and stars the younger members of the Supreme crew, including Sage Elsesser, Nakel Smith, Sean Pablo, Tyshawn Jones and Kevin Bradley. "Senior" riders are represented by the likes of Jason Dill,  MarkGonzales, Lucien ClarkeDylan RiederAnthony Van Engelen, and Bryan Herman. Shot in NYC, LA and Paris. The video will mark the follow up to this year’s hugely successful and original “Cherry” movie which was Supreme’s long overdue return to skate films proper.

Video: Raiders Of The Archives – The Skateboard Museum Part 2 of 5

Last week we shared the first part of a five part video series entitled Raiders Of The Archives, featuring NikeSB sales rep, Nick Halkias’ skateboard collection.  Nick let Skateboarder Magazine into his condo to get a firsthand look at some of his trophies, and the stories that come with them. Episode two includes a great tale about a chance run-in Mark Gonzales had with Madonna and Shawn Penn.  With decks from the likes of Shut, Santa Cruz, Real, Ride Free and more, being featured in the short, you can enjoy it below with the next 3 episodes to come on a weekly basis.

Video: Hand In Hand Presents - Thurston Moore Talks Skateboarding

Ride Channel series Hand in Hand recently filmed a two part video piece on Thurston Moore's influence on the skateboarding community and vice versa.  Moore discus’s how he originally fell into skateboarding culture via magazines like Thrasher citing the common punk spirit held by playing music with his band Sonic Youth and Kids skating the streets of NYC. After a chance encounter with legendary boarder Mark Gonzales at a Sonic Youth concert Thurston was gifted a copy of the Spike Jonze directed Blind feature length, Video Days.  From there a union was formed seeing the band’s music used in many skate films over the years to having things come full circle with Spike Jonze directing the video for "100%" from the band’s Dirty album.  Look to the videos below to get the full story including an appearance from Pro skater and artist,  Ed Templeton, in the second part.

Throwback Thursday's: Spike Jonze's "How They Get There"

I don't really think I need to recap the career or filmography of Spike Jonze as most people are pretty familiar with it.  Along with some of his early music video work (Daft Punk - Da Funk, Ween - Freedom of 76' ) one of my favorites he did was a short film entitled "How They Get There" filmed in 1997, starring ex-skater Mark Gonzales & Lauren Curry.  It is short and sweet and encapsulates a lot of the style and humor that Jonze has become known for.
