Video: Austra – “Painful Like”

Austra’s “Painful Like” gets the video treatment from a cat who goes by the name of Exploding Motor Car. Classic B-movie thriller action in the one, think Mad Max on rollerblades with some puppet work thrown in for good measure.

Following an audio stream we shared back in early March Austra has revealed their clip for “Home,” the first single from their upcoming follow-up to 2011′s Feel It Break, titled Olympia (out June 18th.) It’s a single-shot clip, featuring a down and out looking Katie Stelmanis and her bandmates getting ready for a show. Directed by That Go.

Well this seemingly came out of nowhere. Katie Stelmanis' Toronto-based band Austra have announced the follow-up to 2011's excellent Feel It Break. The record will be called Olympia and is scheduled to drop June 18 via Domino. Check out the upbeat "Home" below, which apparently is a very good indication on what the 12 track album will sound like as a whole.

Video: Austra – “Spellwork”

Austra just dropped their latest video “Spellwork” from their 2011 LP Feel it Break which got an honorable mention on my yearend list this week.  The video which takes place in the woods features a cast of characters including people riding around forebodingly on black steeds, witches decked out in black robes presumably plotting sinister acts, and masked men, enjoy….
