Video: Grizzly Bear – “Gun Shy”

In Grizzly Bear’s latest video director Kris Moyes has the guys  undergoing a series of bodily extractions, their blood, skin, hair, and nails are removed with a wide range of  tools including razor blades, scissors, knives, IV tubes, and more in the Shields track “Gun Shy.”

The band shared a statement from the director on Tumblr.

“The idea came from a question:- if the creative energy of any living organism could be seen, what would it look like? Ed, Daniel, T and Bear demonstrate where their creative energy is located. This is an invitation for a very rare glimpse of what creative energy could look like on a molecular level, if it could be seen.”

So there you have it, this is an experiment for extracting creativity."

Video: Grizzly Bear - "Yet Again"

Executive produced by The Creators Project in partnership with Warp Records and Grizzly Bear, the video for the Shields stand out cut “Yet Again” was directed by Emily Kai Bock and shot in Toronto. You may recall that Emily also directed Grimes’ “Oblivion". The video opens with a female figure-skater on a rink where things get strange quickly as she falls through the ice and is transported to the middle of the forest. Cool stuff, Creative Project always comes correct.

Listen: Grizzly Bear – “Shields” Full LP Stream

We have shared a couple of tunes off of Brooklyn based band Grizzly Bear‘s 4th album, and first since 2009 entitled Shields, which is out next week via Warp. And now you can hear the whole album via NPR. So far my favorite tune is “Yet Again” but as per usual the whole thing is a great listen.

Listen: Grizzly Bear - "Sleeping Ute"

Big day for Grizzly Bear fans. After the announcement of a world tour (check out the dates here) coupled with the news of a new album to release this September on Warp, the game-changing indie band also revealed a new track off the LP.  This is a Daniel Rossen dominated song both in terms of instrumentation (just listen to that guitar riff) and vocals.  The track is punchier than most songs off the previous album yet the patent Grizzly Bear subtlety and attention to detail is ever-present. Listen to "Sleeping Ute" below:

Video: CANT - "Too Late, Too Far"

Grizzly Bear bassist, Chris Taylor, dropped a video for his side project; CANT.  “Too Late, Too Far” is a bizarre series of scenes that looks like it would be at home in a David Lynch production. If you like what you hear check out Dreams Come True out now on Terrible/Warp.
