After sharing an audio stream of Cold Cave’s “Black Boots”
last week a video has made its debut this morning. The visuals were directed by Slava Tsukerman
in aesthetic collaboration with designer Alexandre Plokhov and see Wes being
gloomy in some surreal yet colorful environments.

Listen: Cold Cave - "Black Boots"
Cold Cave offers up another one-off single with “Black Boots.”
Wes Eisold sticks with what he is known for as of late with this one, channeling
the ghost of Joy Division with the
simple Casio drum track and vocal echo as he sings about death, sex and
alienation.

Video: Empire Of The Sun - "Alive"
![]() |
Paris Fashion Week? No Empire Of The Sun on a regular day I'm afraid. |
Aussie pop duo Empire of the Sun recently announced their return to the scene after a
five year break since their colorful debut Walking On A Dream was released. “Alive,” pretty much picks up where they left off with its synth
pop melodies and anthemic choruses. For those who aren't familiar with the band
think MGMT and Yeasayer attending a swingers party and hooking up with
Fischerspooner and The Scissor Sisters. Check out the video below and try not to
get lost in the ridiculous sci-fi fantasy world the band continue to associate their
look with and just enjoy the pure pop bliss! Ice On The Dune is out June
18, pre-order it here.

Posting on the bands tumblr Wesley Eisold says that this is a return mixtape to someone who gave him one on the last tour, but he wanted to share it with everyone. Titled "On The Way, To The Way, To The Way," the mixtape is apparently full of “songs for the summer indoors against the exhaustion of traffic outside.”
