Video: Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds – “Mermaids”

Having just recently attended a Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds gig in NYC, the band drop a video for new single Mermaids off their fantastic Push The Sky Away LP, featuring a very similar live performance filmed at the LA Fonda Theatre in February. "Mermaids" will be released on 20 May as a download package including studio version, a live version recorded in Berlin and two non-album tracks "Needle Boy" & "Lightning Bolts."

I’ve been playing this on heavy rotation the last week so I’m happy to be able to share album number fifteenth from Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Push the Sky Away, in full today. Released next Tuesday in the U.S. via the band's own label, Bad Seed Ltd, we've already shared videos for "We No Who U R"and "Jubilee Street" but really every track on this is a highlight. Recorded in France and produced by Nick Launay (who produced the last three Bad Seeds records, and two Grinderman albums.)

Video: Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - "Jubilee Street"

The new Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds album, Push the Sky Away, is officially out February 19. And we are happy to say it’s another “instant classic.”  We've already shared the video for lead single "We No Who U R" and heard a stream of "Jubilee Street" via a lyrical video but now we get the official visuals for the track from director John Hillcoat and featuring actor Ray Winestone.

Nick had this to say on the process…

"It was a real pleasure hanging around the set and watching Ray do his thing. He is a master. What a great actor. And of course, working with my friend and collaborator John Hillcoat is always a blast."

On February 19 in the Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds will release their 15th studio album, Push the Sky Away. The first song taken from the record, "We No Who U R" now has a video we can share that was directed by Gaspar Noé who some might remeber as the director of SebastiAn’s video for “LoveIn Motion.” The subtle visuals see a shadowy figure walking though a forest.
