Video: Yeasayer – “Reagan’s Skeleton”

Brooklyn’s Yeasayer have released a video for “Reagan’s Skeleton,” which appears on their latest LP, Fragrant World. Directors Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard took a straightforward approach with this one after the more theatrical “Longevity”, capturing the band playing the track with some old school VHS-style effects thrown in for good measure.

Video: Yeasayer - "Longevity"

Yeasayer share their latest video for “Longevity” , a track from their recent LP Fragrant World. The video shows the band gradually aging and ultimately decaying in the studio, pretty cool stuff…

Video: Antony and the Johnsons -"Cut the World" (featuring Willem Dafoe)

Antony and The Johnsons are back with a new live LP out today via Rough Trade/Secretly Canadian. Include in the release is a new studio single and video for title track "Cut the World." The somewhat violent video, with a shocking ending, was directed by NABIL and stars Willem Dafoe (Spider-Man trilogy), Carice van Houten ("Game of Thrones"), and Marina Abramović.

"Cut the World" was originally written for the opera The Life and Death of Marina Abramović and will screen on August 11 at the Southbank Centre in London, as part of  the Meltdown Festival curated by Antony Hegarty. It will proceed a screening of the film "Turning", a collaboration between Antony and video artist Charles Atlas.

Video: Yeasayer – Fragrant World (Full LP Stream)

Yeasayer are set to release their new album, Fragrant World, on August 21st via Secretly Canadian. In advance of the release the Brooklyn band launched an internet scavenger hunt of sorts. Throughout the first half of the week, the guys released individual video clips for each album cut, all created by Yoshi Sodeoka, via websites based all across the world. (They'll only be up until Friday at 8 p.m. EST.) Clues regarding how to find all of the "hidden" videos were revealed via the band's Twitter account and Secretly Canadian's and by last night all the videos had been found. Apparently the band felt this was the best way to get the music out to fans while still controlling a leak. What ever the case we have already heard both "Henrietta" and "Longevity" but there are nine more tunes that you can enjoy for at least the next 36 hours or so.

Video: Yeasayer - "Longevity"

Watch another extremely vibrant video for what appears to be the second leaked track from Yeasayer’s forthcoming LP, Fragrant World, out August 21st, through Secretly Canadian. “Longevity” is on the dreamier side of the bands repertoire but still fits nicely into the universe they have carved for themselves.

Video: Yeasayer – “Henrietta”

In the words of Yeasayer, here’s a “vignette to take drugs to, created by Yoshi Sodeoka.” The soundtrack is Henrietta, the lead single off the band’s third LP, Fragrant World, due out August 21st via Secretly Canadian.

Listen: Yeasayer - "Henrietta"

Two weeks ago, Yeasayer announced a summer tour on their website with a cryptic teaser tag saying “NEW SONGS?” Well, as hinted, here is at least one new song from the band in the form of “Henrietta”. This fits in  nicely with Yeasayer’s existing sound, flexing the things they do better than most in the soaring melodies and harmonizing. Good timing for those summer days that lie ahead.
