Download/Listen: DJ Shadow - "Mansion and Low End Theory Sets"

Photo: George Martinez
DJ Shadow’s “infamous” South Beach set has been uploaded to his SoundCloud for stream and download featuring 86 minutes of “future music” that covers a wide range of dance music styles. If you missed the story the first time round, Shadow got kicked off the decks twenty three minutes into his set on December 15th while playing at Mansion in Miami as part of his All Bases Covered tour. Apparently the promoters were just not feeling it and just couldn't wait to get their resident DJ back on to drop more Top 40-inspired tracks that one walked right up to the decks and asked Shadow to stop. The club soon faced an onslaught of criticism from all corners of the web and has since apologized for the actions and we are better for it because Shadow not only shared the intended mix in full but also gave us one from California’s Low End Theory night back in July. Listen below and download HERE.

Video: DJ Shadow & Terry Reid – “Listen”

Some fantastic visuals directed by Franck Trebillac and Produced by Soupfactory for DJ Shadow’s new track with Terry Reid, taken from his best-of compilation, Reconstructed, a box set that not only features seven discs (including all of his albums, a live performance in Glasgow from 2011 and more), but the In Tune & On Time DVD, a 180GSM vinyl entitled The Best Of The Remixes, a special laminated booklet, and plenty more.

Listen: DJ Shadow feat. Tom Vek - "Warning Call"

Here is yet another leak from  DJ Shadow's forthcoming LP The Less You Know the Better, out September 27th  titled "Warning Call" featuring  Tom Vek. The track definitely goes in a different direction when compared to other work from the DJ/Producer, closer to the UNKLE sound if you ask me.

Video: DJ Shadow feat. Afrika Boy - "I'm Excited"

Here is a real fun video for DJ Shadow’s “I’m Excited” from his forthcoming LP The Less You Know the Better, out September 27th. In the clip Afrikan Boy plays an African dictator—with Gaddafi-like female body guards—who is fed psychedelic food and drink before being sent off on an Altered States-like trip through space and time!
