Video: KOOL A.D. - "Naughty By Nature"

Kool A.D.  shared a new tune and video titled “Naughty By Nature” which is composed of found footage of what looks like a Japanese talk show. The track is set to appear on Kool’s upcoming album, Word O.K., that doesn’t have a release date just yet but I’m sure we will be getting some more of these previews before the official drop, oh and the beat by Mike Finito is pretty fun as well.

Kool A.D. recently dropped his two mixtapes 19 and 63 and now the Mike Finito produced standout “Moneyball” from the 63 tape gets its own video. As is most of the time with Kool the video is as humorous as it is eccentric as the man himself.

Kool A.D. returned to the scene today with not one, but two brand spanking new mixtapes which are both named after Bay Area bus lines where he grew up.  We have previewed a handful of the tracks leading up to the release and shared track listings but here is a recap just in case you missed it. Just seems to be one of those days, as soon as I post something not a moment later I come across additional relevant information that I could have paired all together. So following the rule here is some more Das Racist related material for you to stick your teeth into.   Heems released his Nehru Jackets mixtape a few months ago, and now you can download the instrumentals for free. Mike Finito produced these treasures, which in their original form featured guest appearances from Childish Gambino, Danny Brown, Mr. Muthafuckin' eXquire and more; stripped of Heems' vocals, they still maintain their appeal and might even lead you to going back and listening to the fantastic originals. With plenty of dirty drums, twisted synths, and warped s vocals anyone into what’s going on in hip hop production today and now should be more than happy downloading this, “You Have To Ride The Wave” is still destroying my speakers months later.

Das Racist member Heems announced a solo mixtape with Mike Finito, tentatively titled Nehru Jackets(previously titled Teens Found Slain) , to be released 1/1/2012 (with mixtapes from bandmates Kool A.D. and Dapwell dropping the same day). He recently posted an unconfirmed tape addition,”I Want It Bad”, on his tumblr page. Heems’ describes it as his version of a love song, “I Want It Bad” samples Twin Sister’s “Bad Street”.

Das Racist is my absolute favorite hip hop act of the last several years, they pretty much reignited my interest in the genre after what I found to be a long creative drought. Along side the upcoming new LP Relax we have  Heem’s solo mixtape coming later this year. The upcoming project is tentatively called “Teens Found Slain” and will be produced entirely by Mike Finito. Heems leaked a first song for free on his blog titled “Womyn”, it was recorded on June 22, 2011. Listen to and download below…
