Former Das Racist emcee, Heems, teamed up with Adult Swim
for a video for Eat Pray Thug track “Sometimes.” The satirical video features Eric Andre, Hannibal Buress and fellow Das Racist member Dapwell
in the setting of an infomercial aimed towards products that can change your
skin color and improve your life.
Back in November I shared some new music from former Das Racist emcee Heems in the form of “New York”; a song that the
rapper said was a leftover of sorts from his forthcoming LP. Eat Pray Thug. Today
I can share the first official single from the record titled “Sometimes.” The
tune was produced by Gordon Voidwell and apparently is about dualities,
identity and the space between spaces. Look for Eat Pray Thug to drop on
March 10th.
Former Das Racist emcee Heems shared a track titled “New
York” today. The tune was produced by Heems, Patrick Wimberly and Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson and is a “leftover” from his forthcoming LP, working
title, Eat Pray Thug. The LP is scheduled to drop sometimes early next year
and reportedly features Dev Hynes and Hudson Mohawke amongst others.
Kool A.D. shares the hand-drawn NSFW video for “Word” from
his Word,
OK LP animated by Teddy O’Connor. The video was directed by the pair and follows
the release of the project, which dropped in March and can be purchased via Kool’s
Bandcamp.
There is a Fritz The Cat type vibe to the whole thing as the Dog character
embarks on a journey of sex drugs and rock n’ roll that ultimately lands him in
hell, great stuff from someone who often goes the found footage route for his
videos.
Kool A.D. shared a new tune and video titled “Naughty
By Nature” which is composed of found footage of what looks like a Japanese
talk show. The track is set to appear on Kool’s upcoming album, Word O.K.,
that doesn’t have a release date just yet but I’m sure we will be getting some
more of these previews before the official drop, oh and the beat by Mike Finito
is pretty fun as well.
More mixtape action today, this time from Kool & Kass, aka
the duo of Kool A.D. and Kassa with
their début entitled Peaceful Solutions. Lots of guest slots on this one from

While Das Racist may have broken up
some time ago, they were in fact working on a new album when they decided to
call it quits and today we get to share a tune from the intended LP entitled “Indians

Kool A.D. recently dropped his two mixtapes19 and 63
and now the Mike
Finito produced standout “Moneyball” from the 63 tape gets
its own video. As is most of the time with Kool the video is as humorous as it
is eccentric as the man himself.
In two days a pair of new mixtapes from Kool A.D., 19 and 63,
are scheduled to drop. We have shared the full track list as well as both “Eroika” and “Beautiful NakedPsychedelic Gherkin Exploding Tomato Sauce All Over Your Face” from 19 thus far, and today we got another one in the form of the Mike Finito produced “Moneyball”

We got something new from former Das Racist emcee, Kool A.D.. “Eroika” is the second tune we have now
heard off of Kool’s upcoming mixtape 19. Apparently the prolific rhymer
will actually be releasing two mixtapes this year, 63 being the second. In the
song below Kool pokes fun/name drops Madonna, Garfield, Pitbull, Sammy
Sosa and Justin Bieber’s over the Steel Tipped Dove beat. Check it along with the

Heems decided
to release a second video for the Lushlife produced “Soup Boys (Pretty Drones)”. Make no mistake that this was intentionally released today on President Obama’s inauguration as Himanshu does his thing in front of footage of drones blowing up various
military targets around the world.
Things cooled off here a bit with the holidays but here is something new from Kool A.D. and Bill Ding. The duo like to throw humor into their rhymes, and their latest track, “Beautiful Naked Psychedelic Gherkin Exploding Tomato Sauce All Over Your Face” isn’t any different. Joined by Haji Springer, the trio delivers a tune, which apparently is the first leak off Kool A.D.’s upcoming album 19. The accompanying video of vintage Ricki Lake Show clips acts as the video.
Heems has
a big year despite his former group, Das Racist, recently announcing their break up.
Having recently dropped his second mixtape of 2012, Wild Water Kingdom we
now get a video for the standout Lushlife produced “Soup Boys (Pretty Drones).” The visuals focus on the emcee’s recent travels
overseas.
Well this is one of the more random things I’ve seen in a
while. Continuing with the Christmas spirit Sufjan Stevens dropped a Christmas-themed
hip-hop mixtape featuring music from his recently released 5-EP Christmas box
set, Silver & Gold. The mixtape is called Chopped and Scrooged(HEY HO!) and
features Das Racist, Kitty Pryde, Nicky Da B, and Busdriver, with production by
John Dieterich of Deerhoof, Fol Chen, Son Lux, and more. Stream it via

we get a new Kool A.D.video today. “Manny Pacquiao," which appears on the 51 mixtape, see’s Kool and friends humorously dancing
around on a farm, the video also features Bay Area rapper Trackademicks.
Heems was supposed to drop his Wild Water Kingdom mixtape
today but understandably due to Hurricane Sandy the release date has been
delayed. To keep the fans happy Heems has graciously offered up a new cut
titled “Soup Boys (Pretty Drones),” which features production from Lushlife,

Das Racist released
a new video today for the Blood Diamond-produced
“Girl,” which appears on their last LP, Relax. The humorous story of a
young man trying his best to impress a girl was directed by comedian AristotleAthiras.
Next week, Heemswill release his new mixtape Wild Water
Kingdom via Greedhead., it’s about two
weeks late but hey it’s free so stop your complaining already! We’ve already
heard “Let
It Go” and “Killing
Time” and today Heems put out another cut for us to enjoy called “Cowabunga
Gnarley” that features production from Harry Fraud.
