Brooklyn’s Liturgy dropped
a video for “Quetzalcoatl” off their recently released Thrill Jockey effort, The
Ark Work. The visuals are super trippy and have an epic nature to theme even
though there is no traditional narrative happening, it’s pretty hypnotic and
fits the bands sound and overall esthetic very well.

Listen: Lightning Bolt – “The Metal East”
Noise duo Lightning
Bolt recently announced Fantasy Empire, their first
album in over five years will be released on March 24 via Thrill Jockey. "The
Metal East" is our first taste of the record and it’s a welcome return
that definitely brought a smile to my face after hearing it. Lots of polyrhythms
going on here with distorted vocals and heavy fuzzed-out baselines.

Listen: Liturgy - "Quetzalcoatl"
Earlier today Brooklyn’s Liturgy updated their Facebook account with a new graphic; from there it was only a matter of time before some
new music was shared from the band and news of a new record, the follow up to
2011 year-end favorite Aesthethica.
March 25th will mark the release of The Ark Work via Thrill Jockey with our first taste being lead single "Quetzalcoatl". The tune marks a major departure from previous work especially in regards to the vocal delivery which shares almost nothing in common with the black metal styling’s that marked the group’s previous efforts. Give the tune a spin below and take note of the track listing.

Future Islands - "Before the Bridge"
Thrill Jockey will be releasing the new Future Islands 7" on July 19th, check out "Before the Bridge" below to get a nice little taste. If you aren't familiare with the band they have a synth-driven sound that falls in nicely with their fellow Wham City scene Baltimore peers. Frontman Samuel Herring's vocals are an acquired tatse but as is often the case with "odd" vocal styles they tend to grow on you and become something special that stands out from the crowd, enjoy...
