Go Buy These: New Era 59FIFTY Transformer Hats

Here is a pretty rad idea that came about from Japanese toy company Takara Tomy in conjunction with Transformers and ball cap giants New Era. Transformers Cap Bots is exactly what you are thinking right now – a New Era 59FIFTY fitted cap that transforms into a robot. Autobot and Decepticon models will be released this holiday season, with a December 15 release date.

Video: The Death Set - "They Come to Get Us"

To accompany their new album, Michel Poiccard (Ninja Tune), The Death Set has released a video for their single "They Come to Get Us".  I don't know much about the band and to tell the truth don't really have much to say about the song but the video is pretty sweet.  Other than the fact the singer looks like he is dressed like a 30-year old toddler there are a lot of sweet references throw into this one (Rampage, Rambo, Trolls 2, etc..).

Mattel Announces Production of the Official Back To The Future Hover Board

You know what’s the best part about growing up? You can finally buy all those toys you wanted as a child but weren’t allowed to get, and you don’t even have to ask anyone to do so!

The time has finally come. Shortly after Nike released the Nike MAG, Mattel has announced that it will be producing the Back To The Future Hover Board.
“Back to the Future Hover Board: Finally! This totally awesome 1:1 replica of the hover board from the BTTF 2 and BTTF 3 films includes multiple whooshing sounds and will glide over most surfaces (does not actually “hover” – check back in 2015 for that feature). We’ll be taking orders for it March 1 – March 20, 2012, and the final product will be shipped around November/December 2012. Because this is such a high-cost item, there will be a minimum number of orders required to go into production. If we don’t receive the minimum orders, won’t go into production and customers will not be charged. The price will be announced later this month. (Note: Hover board does not work on water.)”

Video: Masters of the Universe?

There is trouble brewing in Eternia. Trouble over who is the real master of the universe,... the He-Man universe. Toy Masters is a documentary that covers the creation and history of the He-Man franchise (toys, cartoons, etc..) as well the ongoing battle over who actually created the brand.
I was a huge He-Man dork, had Castle Grayskull and watched the cartoon religiously. I never questioned the over the top homo-eroticism of it or Aryan uber human undertone (sporting the Nazi Grand Iron cross on his chestplate). I'm happy to see a documentary on the subject in which the participants seem happy to talk shit about each other. Check out a 7 minute preview below...
