Happy Friday! Christopher Walken Calls Xbox Live

Happy Friday everyone! I’m super excited because by day’s end I’ll be off to bigger and better things for the next couple weeks as I take a much needed vacation to go see friends up North. On that note let’s keep things fun and light hearted this morning with a Happy Friday post.

Picture the scene: Christopher Walken gets home after a day on set, he’s an every-man type of guy so he likes to kick back and relax while on his couch playing some Xbox One, but he can't because like the folks at Sony he's been "hacked". So like so many other gamers before him, Walken makes the dreaded call to Xbox Support.

Video: The Death Set - "They Come to Get Us"

To accompany their new album, Michel Poiccard (Ninja Tune), The Death Set has released a video for their single "They Come to Get Us".  I don't know much about the band and to tell the truth don't really have much to say about the song but the video is pretty sweet.  Other than the fact the singer looks like he is dressed like a 30-year old toddler there are a lot of sweet references throw into this one (Rampage, Rambo, Trolls 2, etc..).

Throwback Thursdays: Abobo's Big Adventure

Alright, technically this is not a throwback as it was just created but if you grew up playing Nintendo (NES) then you gotta check this out.  Months ago we talked about the release of the Flash game, "Abobo's Big Adventure" which is a homemade mashu-up of old school games and gameplay (Zelda, BattleToads, Mario, etc..) using everyone favorite lumpy character from Double Dragon, Abobo.  The game is really well done and retro in every way especially on how hard it is.  It makes you want to smash your controller and cry just like back in the days (thanks... Ninja Gaiden).

PLAY IT NOW!!!

For more on the making of the game, check out co-creator Roger Barr's website I-Mockery.

Video: Tim & Eric ad for Saints Row: The Third

Video-game series "Saint's Row" has long been seen as a "Grand Theft Auto" clone but is desperate to step out of its older brothers shadow and to show the world it has some kind of personality of its own. "Saints Row: The Third" seems to have dropped the ghetto-gangsta theme and gone overboard on personality. So much so that the game is filled with flashy nonsensical characters and elements and seems to be all over the place including random Adult-Swim characters, octopus guns, etc. It kind of has gone weird for the sake of being weird. Like the guy at a party w/ a snake ("Oh, this old thing?"). In an attempt to grab attention they have created a number of "viral" commercials but went to the best of the best to make this one, Tim & Eric.

Tim & Eric Show: Great Job has been on a long hiatus but it is good to see they are starting to pump some new stuff out. A 12-minute commercial/film/skit? Whatever it is... its good stuff.

Listen: Lana Del Rey – "Video Games" (Balam Acab Remix)

Balam Acab, the project of 20-year-old Pennsylvanian Alec Koone, has just dropped his remix of Lana Del Rey‘s “Video Games”.  Taking an already measured song and switching it up to give us that other world vibe that Alex is known for.
