Video: The Flaming Lips Ft. Amanda Palmer – “The First Time I Ever Saw Your Face” NSFW

Remember back in June when Wayne Coyne and The Flaming Lips pissed off Erykah Badu because of that NSFW video for “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” that featured a very nude Badu and sister? (you can still link to it from HERE) Well, the Flaming Lips song now has a new singer altogether – Badu has been replaced by Amanda Palmer of the Dresden Dolls.

Not for nothing, because if someone doesn’t want there to be a video of them nude readily available on the internet, I prefer Amanda’s vocals to Badu’s. Check the VERY NSFW video below….

Video: Erykah Badu & Flaming Lips - "The First Time I Saw Your Face" (NSFW)

We have talked about the most-interesting collaboration album by the Flaming Lips (w/ Bon Iver, Edward Sharpe, Yoko Ono, etc..) entitled The Flaming Lips & Heady Fwends to death on this site recently.  So I am here to add more fuel to that fire with the recent video of the track "The First Time I Ever Saw Your Face" featuring the Lips & Erykah Badu and a very, very voluptuous and naked Nayrok Badu (Erykah's sister).  She writhes around in slo-mo covered in glitter, blood and according to some of Wayne Coyne's tweets.... fake semen.  How sexy.

That being said,... the video is very much NSFW.  The album is out on vinyl and will be released on CD & digitally on June 26th by Warner Bros. records.

Update - Check out the video HERE.

Listen: Mastodon - “A Spoonful Weighs A Ton” (Flaming Lips Cover)

On Friday we heard Mastodon cover Feist for a Record Store Day 7″. Now we’ve got the Atlanta bands take on the Flaming LipsSoft Bulletin classic “A Spoonful Weighs A Ton.” It was also released as an Record Store Day exclusive, and is available on pink vinyl with the Flaming Lips original version on the flipside. The song remains very true to the original almost giving us a different side of the metal band. Listen below…

Video: Flaming Lips & New Fumes - "Girl, You're So Weird.." (NSFW)

For months The Flaming Lips have been recording a slew of collaborative track with some of the most interesting musicians out today (Bon Iver, Eryka Badhu, Prefuse 73, Neon Indian, Lightning Bolt, Jim James, Edward Sharpe, etc.. ).  These sessions were all for the upcoming record, The Flaming Lips & Heady Fwends which is to be released next week on April 21.  There is a special edition of this record that is supposed to include blood from all of the artists involved mixed in w/ the vinyl.  No suprise there,.. as the Lips have been doing an interesting run of crazy and inventive ways to package or compliment their releases.

The first video for the album is out featuring the New Fumes and is entitled "Girl, You're So Weird"... and is NSFW... aka. boobies and nudities.. and the such.  So just saying....

BONUS - Interesting video on the pressing of the record...

Listen: Strobo Trip - Flaming Lips 6 hour single

The Flaming Lips known for their trippy interactive stage shows now allow you to have one of your own in your own bedroom whilst zoning out to a 6 hour song entitled "I Found a Star on the Ground".   Released as a charity aid for the Central Oklahoma Humane Society and the Academy of Contemporary Music at the University of Central Oklahoma, Strobo Trip Light Phase Illusion Animation was released as a limited, collectors edition 3-song EP (collab with Sean Lennon) accompanied with a strobe light and multiple trippy discs.  The goal is to spin the discs and shine the strobe on them creating some looped animations you can stare at presumably and hopefully for a number of hours.

This interesting release comes in a line of new "object releases" Wayne Coyne and the Lips have been doing and have planned for the future. Others include glow-in-the-dark 12' vinyls and gummy skulls, frogs & fetuses.

"I Found a Star on the Ground" (6 hours, broken up into 3 parts)....

Part 1

Part 2

Part 3

To check out the other 2 tracks pick up the collectors edition of Strobe Trip for $45.  You'll be lucky to track one down but if you do wont be disappointed... and its for charity, ya ass.
