Video: Sébastien Tellier & Caroline Polachek – “In The Crew Of Tea Time”


In celebration of Record Store Day, Record Makers will be releasing an exclusive 7-inch by Sébastien Tellier & Caroline Polachek of Chairlift. It features the yet unreleased track "In The Crew Of Tea Time" which was recorded last year in Paris. Sébastien met Caroline when Chairlift opened for his 2009 "Sexuality" US tour, from there a friendship was formed and the desire to record something together was born, this is the result. The stunning video was directed by Guillaume Cagniard.

Video: Feistodon – “A Commotion”


Mastodon and Feist have released an interactive video for their Record Store day split single. The “Feistodon” clip was directed by Vice Cooler, and utilizes an HTML5 video app, enabling users to crossfade between Feist and Mastodon’s versions of “A Commotion”. The video see’s Feist enthusiastically destroying anything she can get her hands on and can be viewed below or  HERE.

Listen: Lykke Li – “Come Near”


Record Store Day has come and gone but we are still sorting through all the releases that came with it. One such release that might have slipped by you was the Ingrid multi artist compilation, Volym 1. Featuring artists like Miike Snow, Andrew Wyatt and the reason you are reading this, LykkeLiVolym 1 acts as the home of an unheard Lykke tune by the name of “Come Near.” The tune has got a dark vibe to it with its chanted vocal delivery and rolling, tribal drums fitting nicely into the Swede’s existing catalogue.

Listen: Mastodon - “A Spoonful Weighs A Ton” (Flaming Lips Cover)

On Friday we heard Mastodon cover Feist for a Record Store Day 7″. Now we’ve got the Atlanta bands take on the Flaming LipsSoft Bulletin classic “A Spoonful Weighs A Ton.” It was also released as an Record Store Day exclusive, and is available on pink vinyl with the Flaming Lips original version on the flipside. The song remains very true to the original almost giving us a different side of the metal band. Listen below…

Listen: Feistodon - Feist: "Black Tongue" / Mastodon: "A Commotion”


Feistodon is the 7″ split EP that’s being released for Record Store Day which features Mastodon covering Fiest’s “A Commotion” from here 2012 release Metals and Feist covering Mastodon’s “Black Tongue” from their 2011 release The Hunter.
