Listen/Download: The Avalanches – DJ Set @ Splendour in the Grass 2006

A "new" mix popped up today on the Avalanches mix tape club, the mix isn’t actually a new mix in that it was recently recorded but rather in that it was made available to members of the club. This one hails from 2006 and was performed live at Splendour in the Grass in Belongil Fields, outside of Byron Bay, Australia. The mix is somewhat 80’s centric in it’s vibe but features artists from artists beyond the 1980’s including Prince, Def Leppard, Daft Punk, Gnarls Barkley, Salt N’ Pepper, The Gossip, David Bowie, Midnight Juggernauts, Bon Jovi, Mylo, The Rapture, The Rolling Stones, The Sound Of Music and more. The 45-minute mix is a total blast and is yet another reminder of why we desperately need a new LP from the collective, maybe 2013 will be the year.

Listen: M83 - "Reunion" (Mylo Remix)

Most of our readers are familiar with the frenchman M83 and his epic soundscapes inspired by a wide-eyed nostalgic and romanticized  take on what it was like to be young.  Few, however, might remember Mylo's mid 00s electro-house productions and fairly decent album entitled "Destroy Rock & Roll" which was guided by similar motifs.  With this remix of M83's "Reunion" to be featured on the EP of the same name, Mylo is back and I for one forgot I actually missed him.  Listen to a great quality radio rip below:

Listen: TV On The Radio -"Will Do" MYLO Remix

Long overdue for a follow up to 2004’s Destroy Rock & Roll Scottish producer Myles Maclnnes aka MYLO has been keeping busy musically with the odd mix cd (Mylo’s Rough Guide To Rave, The Return) and various remix’s. We are still going to have to wait for a proper follow up but here is a note worthy remix he just dropped for TV On The Radio’s “Will Do”
