Fashion Week is
wrapping up in Paris
and on Monday the Saint Laurent show was
the main focus. The high profile event is increasingly drawing more and more
big name artists to provide the backing track for the top collections with groups
like the Chromatics having preformed live there only a few days ago. Parisian
due Daft Punk put together a mix for the aforementioned YSL show featuring music by the
late blues artist Junior Kimbrough. Of course the robotic two themselves are no strangers to being involved with the industry in one form or another.

Video: Jeff Soto Black Keys poster process
Jeff Soto has really come on strong in the gigposter world the last 2 years. He is an amazingly detailed painter whose work is always super colorful and vibrant but has been able to successfully transition his work into the much simpler, flatter medium of screenprinting. He recently released a process video for his new Black Keys print (for Paris & Lille) which gives an nice look into how he goes from sketch to final.
"The inspiration was sculptural works I got to see in France, in particular those celebrating the French Revolution. I designed the poster loosely as a representation of Marie Antoinette’s head. I wanted it to be beautiful and sculptural, and maybe just a bit tragic."
"The lettering was inspired by the fonts used in the Paris Metro. I couldn’t believe them the first time I saw them. It reminded me of 60′s era hippy letters, but older looking."
The image above is a variant of the the final copy. Prints go on sale Jan. 25th at PotatoStamp.

Sunday Matinee - Celebrating Sunday's with a live clip - MAN MAN

Philly based band Man Man is back on tour after a 2 or 3 year hiatus pushing their new album "Life Fantastic" and in celebration of the boys being back they are our Sunday Matinee. Here they are playing on and through the streets of Paris.
The clip is a bit long as it also shows some on stage and post-show footage... but well worth it. If you ever get a chance to catch em live... do!!!!
