Listen: Pillowfight – "Pillowfight" (Full LP Stream)

Today we have a full LP stream of Pillowfight’s debut.  As previously reported the project consist of Dan The Automator, multi-instrumentalist and singer Emily Wells, Kid Koala and David Choe. For fans of Dan’s past work (particularly Handsome Boy Modeling School and Lovage) there will be obvious similarities between projects but that’s ok because Dan pretty much created that whole trip hop that marries jazzy vocals with down-tempo beats or if you prefer, lounge-funk, that was popular in the late 90’s to mid-2000’s. Some might even say that there is a similarity to the Gorillaz but Dan also produced their debut LP so once again it’s a sound you know but coming from someone who has always done it right. Listen: Menomena - "Moms" Full LP Stream

One last full LP stream to end the day off with and this time it’s in the form of Portland’s Menomena and their new, and 5^th overall LP, Moms, officially due out on September 18th via Barsuk. We shared both “Capsule” and "HeavyIs as Heavy Does" so you should have a pretty good idea what you are in store for. 

Listen: Baroness - "Yellow and Green" (Full Album Stream)

Savannah Georgia’s Baroness are set to release their third color themed album, Yellow and Green, on the 17th of July via Relapse Records. The double album contains 18 tracks and continues down the same genre bending path both Red and Blue did and was once again produced by John Congleton (The Roots, Explosions in the Sky, Black Mountain, The Polyphonic Spree.)  Check out the first single “Take My Bones Away” below and if you like what you hear you can stream the album now in its entirety over at NPR.
