Video: Lykke Li – “No Rest For The Wicked”

I shared a stream of Lykki Li’s latest single “No Rest For The Wicked” back in mid-March and you can also find a taste of the songstress’ new music on a certain playlist as well but if you missed it both those times around now’s your chance to hear the song via the music video. The visuals come from director Tarik Saleh and deal with a subject matter apparently close to the singer’s heart based on her body of work, love. Look for I Never Learn to drop on May 5th.

Listen: Lykke Li - "No Rest For The Wicked"

After sharing a new song from Sweden’s Lykke Li some weeks back we have something new for you to enjoy today off of her forthcoming LP, I Never Learn. "No Rest For The Wicked" fits in nicely with what we have heard of the record so far which seems to be something in-between the first two parts of the proposed trilogy. If you like what you hear pick up the record on May 5th when it is officially released.

Sweden’s Lykke Li will release her new album I Never Learn on May 6th and as often happens before the release of an album we get a lead single and video. "Love Me Like I'm Not Made of Stone" was directed by Tarik Saleh, it's a close-up portrait of Lykke

The album was co-produced by Björn Yttling (of Peter Björn and John), Greg Kurstin, and Lykke. It's the final entry in a trilogy, which includes 2008's Youth Novels and 2011's hugely popular Wounded Rhymes.

Refused's frontman Dennis Lyxzén has returned with his latest project INVSN which sees the group of Swedes taking on post punk sounds not unlike that of Joy Division.  While the band released a pair of LPs under the name Invasionen in their native country they have since expanded their lineup to now include Andre Sandström of thrash band DS-13, Sara Almgren of The (International) Noise Conspiracy, Lykke Li collaborator Anders Stenberg, and Richard Österman. INVSN is out September 24 on Razor & Tie.  Pre-order bundles can be purchased here if you like what you hear below…

Listen: Lykke Li – “Come Near”

Record Store Day has come and gone but we are still sorting through all the releases that came with it. One such release that might have slipped by you was the Ingrid multi artist compilation, Volym 1. Featuring artists like Miike Snow, Andrew Wyatt and the reason you are reading this, LykkeLiVolym 1 acts as the home of an unheard Lykke tune by the name of “Come Near.” The tune has got a dark vibe to it with its chanted vocal delivery and rolling, tribal drums fitting nicely into the Swede’s existing catalogue.
