Following the Western-themed revenge drama of "Algiers" and the kinetic "Matamoros" videos, comes the dream like "Lost in the Woods," the latest visual from The Afghan Whigs' Do to the Beast, once again directed by Phil Harder.

When it comes to covering songs Greg Dulli and the Afghan Whigs are definitely one of the best in the business at doing so, usually adding some trademark melancholy to the tune in question. During the recording of their latest LP, Do to the Beast, they toyed around with the Police’s “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic,” but it didn’t make the final cut. “We sort of made a demo of the song and forgot about it,” says frontman Greg Dulli. Well after a quick re-recording of the vocals the band decided to share the tune today.

You can now watch The Afghan Whigs’ latest video for “Matamoros,” the second single from the band’s new album and first in sixteen years, Do to the Beast. The clip, directed by Phil Harder, was filmed on location in New York City's subway system.

It’s been sixteen years since the Afghan Whigs, one of my all-time favorite bands,  released a new album. But on April 15 that will all change when the Cincinnati group drop, Do to the Beast, via Sub Pop. Of course we get a great lead single and video to go with the release and you can now check out both below for track number 4 on the record entitled "Algiers". The violent Western movie-themed visuals were directed by Phil Harder, who worked with a band quite a bit between 1989 and 1994, it was shot on location in Agua Dulce California.

The Afghan Whigs have been covering Frank Ocean’s “Lovecrimes” on the regular during their ongoing reunion tour (as can be seen below). Now, much to our delight, the band has decided to release a studio version of the cover, making it their second release of the year. There is no better band to cover this tune, the Whigs always come correct with their interpretations and make no secret of their love for R&B. Video: Afghan Whigs – “I’m Her Slave” Live on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon

One of my all time favorite bands, TheAfghan Whigs, recently reformed for a reunion tour which kicked off last night on "LateNight With Jimmy Fallon". This marks the Cincinnati band’s first public appearance in 13 years and you can watch the web exclusive of "I'm Her Slave", off the 1992  classic Congregation LP, with a little help from ?uestlove of "Fallon" house band the Roots below.
