One of my all time favorite bands, TheAfghan Whigs, recently reformed for a reunion tour which kicked off last
night on "LateNight With Jimmy Fallon". This marks the Cincinnati band’s first
public appearance in 13 years and you can watch the web exclusive of "I'm
Her Slave", off the 1992 classic
Congregation LP, with a little help from ?uestlove
of "Fallon" house band the Roots
below. And if you haven’t already make sure to grab the free download of "See
And Don't See," a cover originally recorded in 1970 by Marie "Queenie"
Lyons, the first new recording in over five years from the guys.

Video: The Simpsons Couch Gag by Bill Plympton
Been a little music heavy on the blog as of late so why not share some new animated material to satisfy those art type needs...Last Sunday the iconic couch gag that takes place in the opening titles for The Simpsons was done by legendary American artist Bill Plympton. You may know Bill’s work from MTV’s heyday amongst other things, the artist definitely puts his own spin on things and creates a short tale of love and loss between a young Homer and the famous couch. You can watch it below...

Shepard Fairey, Ron English, Kenny Scharf and Robbie Conal to Guest Star on The Simpsons
On March 4, Shepard Fairey, Ron English, Kenny Scharf and Robbie Conal will guest star on the 23rd Season of the iconic television series, The Simpsons in an episode titled, “Exit Though The Kwik-E-Mart.” In order to get back at his dad, Bart goes undercover as a graffiti street artist and plasters Homer’s unflattering image all over Springfield. But one night, Bart and Milhouse get caught in the act by the established street artists and to Bart’s surprise, they invite him to exhibit his satirical artwork in his very own gallery show.
“Part of being on ‘The Simpsons,’ is you’re being honored as a reference point in culture,” Fairey says. “But you also can’t be too sensitive about that part of culture being made fun of…There’s irony that comes with something outsider becoming insider. And they do a great job of examining that.”-Shepard
It's kind of weird, Shepard is easily the most recognizable of the above artists in mainstream culture but his character doesn't look as spot on as the others in my opinion.

Video: M83 – “Midnight City” (Live on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon)
M83 popped in to see Jimmy Fallon last night on his NBC show, treating the audience to a live rendition of “Midnight City,” a song that I for one can’t get enough of even all these months after its début on the internet and consequently the recently released double LP Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming. Enjoy the clip below complete with sax solo!

Video: Banksy’s “The Antics Roadshow”
As promised here is a video of Banksy’s one hour TV Special, The Antics Roadshow, which aired on Channel 4 over the weekend. Titled as a pun on the Antiques Roadshow, a long-running British television show, Banksy explores the “history of behaving badly in public, from anarchists and activists to attention seeking eccentrics” including many interviews and re-enactments with the actual protagonists.

Banksy - "The Antics Roadshow"
Channel 4 in the U.K. will be premiering an hour-long special produced by Banksy charting the history of behaving badly in public, from anarchists and activists to attention seeking eccentrics. Banksy's 'incomplete guide to total anarchy' provides a greatest hits of wayward behaviour, sedition and sabotage. Check out The Antics Roadshow this Saturday August 13th at 10:45pm if you live in the U.K. or on the internet shortly after as it will inevitably be made available by someone.

There is great article by Andy Greenwald on how HBO recycles your favorite actors for their various shows. To get a large version of the above graphic and the full story visit Grantland.
