Looks like the project known as s/s/s/ which features Sufjan Stevens, Son Lux, and Serengeti have
changed their name to Sisyphus and with that will be releasing their
self-titled debut album on March 18 to accompany an art display by Jim Hodges. The album is reportedly partially influenced by Hodges’ work, which
should be pretty clear once you’ve seen the video/lyric video for album closer “Alcohol”.
While the track starts off in a pretty straightforward and minimal manner it
never the less kind of gets stuck in your head and by the end of the tune’s five-and-a-half minute running time Ryan Lott goes all out with the production.

Listen/Download: Sufjan Stevens’ Christmas Rap Mixtape “Chopped and Scrooged”
Well this is one of the more random things I’ve seen in a
while. Continuing with the Christmas spirit Sufjan Stevens dropped a Christmas-themed
hip-hop mixtape featuring music from his recently released 5-EP Christmas box
set, Silver & Gold. The mixtape is called Chopped and Scrooged(HEY HO!) and
features Das Racist, Kitty Pryde, Nicky Da B, and Busdriver, with production by
John Dieterich of Deerhoof, Fol Chen, Son Lux, and more. Stream it via
Soundcloud below, and download it HERE.

Video: Sufjan Stevens - "Silver & Gold"
Here's the second video from Sufjan Stevens' upcoming Christmas collection, Silver & Gold: Songs for Christmas Volumes 6-10. The
clip for title track, "Silver & Gold" is made up of old home-video footage of a little
boy (Sufjan's nephew, Gavin) running and playing on a beach and
reminds me of music from his Illinois period.

Video: Sufjan Stevens – “Mr. Frosty Man”
Here's the video for "Mr. Frosty Man" off of Sufjan Stevens' upcoming Christmas release Silver & Gold: Songs for Christmas Volumes 6-10 that we previewed some weeks back. Animator Lee Hardcastle creates a fantastic claymation zombie apocalypse scene that is well worth your time.

Listen: Sufjan Stevens - "Christmas Unicorn"
Sufjan Stevens continues the Christmas-trend he started
years ago with Silver & Gold: Songs for Christmas, Volumes 6-10, a
collection of 5 EPs. The material was
recorded between 2006 and 2010 and we can share the final song of them all, the
12 minute and 28 seconds long jingle titled "Christmas Unicorn." There’s a hint
of his more recent Age of Adz-direction on this one, with minor auto-tuning and
some electronic bleeps and bloops buried in the trade mark harmonizing. The
whole package is available in a limited edition vinyl box set as well, which is
packed with goodies including…
One of only 2000 Limited Edition Boxsets, including five EPs
on 6 vinyl discs (ships only to the United States, Canada and the EU)
