It’s been a moment since Chambaland and I released any new mashups under code-name Perestroika so we recently got together at one of our secret bases and decided to put our heads together to come up with some new combinations for y’all. Since its Uncle Sam’s birthday here in the U.S. we figured why not share them throughout the week in celebration of July 4th this Thursday.

Hey Ho from Chambaland and myself and a happy Friday to everyone. So here is the latest Perestroika mashup, we finished it off a couple weeks back but have been sitting on it for a brief moment while tying up some loose ends with the art work. This time round’ we went with some R&B, via Avant, for the acapella, while using Grimes as our instrumental. We like to think this re-work gives the whole thing a slight hipster R&B vibe, maybe not lyrically but sonically, Let us know what do you think?

Perestroika’s first drop in October comes in the form of another exclusive mashup we called “Dream Control”. Chambaland and I stuck with the rock theme again on this one combining Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams” with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs “Y Control,” we were both surprised how quickly this one came together, clocking in at about half the man hours. I thought a nice little intro would be to post one of his recent creations in the form of mashup “Keep Up” (Eminem/Destiny’s Child/Arcade Fire/Dr. Dre/Katy Perry/Prodigy) the track will be featured on his upcoming mix tape On My Mind out sometimes by week’s end.  So enjoy the track below and look to see many more treats from Dan himself soon.
