Video/Listen: Peanut Butter Wolf – “12 Hour Boiler Room Set”

Stones Throw head honcho Peanut Butter Wolf visited the Boiler Room to put on ridiculously long 12-hour DJ set that coincidentally will accommodate all you folks throwing Super Bowl party’s today with a play list. Video: Quakers – “Fitta Happier”

Quakers are back with their most high budget video to date.  “Fitta Happier,” featured some months back as a stream, guest’s Guilty Simpson & M.E.D. The clip was directed by Eric Coleman and indirectly  samples Radiohead’s  “The National Anthem” by way of marching band. Quakers is a 35-person hip-hop collective, centered around three producers - Fuzzface (Geoff Barrow), Katalyst (Ashley Anderson), and 7Stu7 (Stuart Matthews). Quakers 41-track album is out now on Stones Throw.

Hip hop collective Quakers dropped the latest video from their recently released self-titled LP. “Smoke” featuring Jonwayne sticks with the formula we’ve seen so far for these videos, handy cam recordings and a lo-fi vibe. Video: Quakers – “Russia With Love”


The Hip hop collective known as Quakers dropped a video for “Russia With Love” off of their recently released self titled debut LP.  The song and video which features Coin Locker Kid behind the mic was shot by CLK & a friend on a digi stills camera and edited on a laptop for the end result you see below.  Pick up the LP now via Stones Throw  which features production from Portishead’s Geoff Barrow.

Listen: Stones Throw Podcast 72: "Hip-Hop Quake Mix by Quakers"

Quakers are a 35-member hip-hop collective centered around three producers – Fuzzface (Geoff Barrow of Portishead), Katalyst (Ashley Anderson), and 7-Stu-7 (Stuart Matthews). Their album drops on Stones Throw on March 27.

This is the “Hip-Hop Quake Mix” by Katalyst, a 40-minute set featuring some of the work that has inspired the project. No track list has been provided.

J Dilla's "Donuts", the last album to be released before the seminal producer's passing, is being re-released with a new "smiley version" cover on Stones Throw records.  Instead of taking up half of this blog's real estate to describe just how much this man influenced every single genre of music that involves the use of beats, watch a new video posted by the label of album track "U-Love" which was submitted in a relevant competition too late to make the cut, but too appropriate to be skipped.
