Hu₵₵i dropped a new EP titled 404 earlier in the week that
I’ve been enjoying quite a bit on the ol’ headphones. Even though the Brighton
producer calls the release an EP it is twenty-two tracks and over an hour
long. You can grab the whole thing right
now for a name your own price exchange, but it be worth it even at retail
price. Plenty of killer tracks, including some I’ve shared in the past. New
early highlights for me include "Mula" and late album cuts “Thir$t” and “Moon.” Give it a spin below and pick the whole thing up
HERE.

Listen: Bine – “Afraid of Everything”
Bine dropped a new tune that further refines his
still free, Things Will be Better From Now On LP. “Afraid of Everything” is
probably a little more energetic in it’s approach then previous work but the
producer clearly has something to say when it comes to this more “glistened”
sound that’s just as relevant.

Listen: Djemba Djemba – “Macking In The Car (I Don't Drive)”
Continuing with the onslaught of new beat-driven music I’ve
been throwing up this week I have another great tune to share with y’all that
should fit in nicely with everything else I’ve been sharing. The name Djemba Djemba might ring a bell to
some of our readers, through his experimenting with polyrhythms, 90’s FM
synths, and the all-important 808 Kick, the young producer has been steadily
releasing solid tunes for the last several years. But don't take my word for
it, whispers on the dance floor say that
he sometimes acts as a ghost writer for Diplo’s releases which even if not true
is a compliment if you ask me. Whatever the case I can relate to the title of Djemba’s
latest tune, “Macking In The Car (I Don't Drive)”, as I don't get behind the
wheel either but more importantly it’s a super fun tune.
Listen: Mr. Carmack – “Drugs”
Mr. Carmack aka Aaron Carmack is back with a new 13-track EP
by the name of Drugs, you can grab the whole thing for one dollar right now
over at his Band Camp, yeah one dollar, it’s a great deal no matter how cheap
you might get when it comes to paying for music. The Hawaii-based producer
continues to blur the lines between hip hop and dance music in a progressive
way , stream the title track to get a taste of what your missing from below…

Listen: HU₵₵I – “Realm” & “Leaf (Clip)
I’ve been saving a bunch of these tunes for the next
Onomatopoeia Playlist Series edition but as I’m seemingly dragging my feet on
that I figured let me just start sharing some of these tunes as they are great
and deserve to be heard sooner rather than later.
Next up is 17-year-old U.K. producer HU₵₵I, who has been
killing it in the last year plus with his unruly production style. I’m throwing
up “Realm” from earlier this month and an older favorite of mine, the hymn tinged
“Leaf (Clip)" for your listening pleasure. Again this is pretty much what’s
happening in electronically driven hip hop and trap music right now outside of
radio play. I hear people say hip hop is shit now days, I think it’s better
than ever and people just need to spend a little more time seeking the
interesting stuff out.
