Volcano Choir have shared a new video for
"Tiderays", from last year's Repave LP, a record that you may
recall made my year-end list in 2013. You may also recall The band have
actually already shared some visuals for the tune in the past when they released
a series of re-purposed Michinori Saigo
instillation art video captures for each song on the Repave LP; but I guess
this acts as some sort of official version away from that universe. The video was directed by
Kyle Buckley and Andi Woodward in conjunction with 551project and stars dancers from the Milwaukee Ballet.

Video: S.Carey - "Fire Scene"
While browsing the internet over the long weekend I ran into
a new video from S. Carey for “Fire Scene”. The track is set to appear on Sean’s
forthcoming sophomore LP, Range Of Light out on April 1st via Jagjaguwar. For
those not familiar with the man he spends a good chunk of time in Bon Iver and
the vibe most certainly carries over into his solo work although this first taste seemingly has fewer electronics touches in it than Carey's last EP. The visuals come from
Joe Baughman.

Video: Volcano Choir - "Byegone"
Volcano Choir,
the side project featuring Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon and Wisconsin
post-rock act Collections of Colonies of Bees, have shared the music video for "Byegone." The clip was directed by Michinori Saigo and features what
appears to be some instillation art that utilizes a tree. In a funny way it’s
kind of like watching tree porn or something. Repave is out
September 3rd via Jagjaguwar.

Video: Bon Iver - "Beth/Rest"
Only a day after sharing a full live set from Bon Iver a new
video débuts for "Beth/Rest" off of last year’s self-titled LP. Directed
by Justin Vernon himself along with Dan Huiting the hyper-natural clip,
starring band member Mike Noyce, follows a couple in
strange white suits, traveling through an enchanted wooded forest, cradling
otherworldly balls of light, and kissing in clouds of fluorescent fog, at times looking like lost footage from the film The Fountain.
The Beth/Rest 12", out today in the U.S. via Jagjaguwar, is available
on vinyl and digital formats and comes backed by an August 2011 live take of
the track, recorded at Brooklyn's Rare Book Room studio. The single is out in
the UK and Europe November 12 via 4AD.

Video: Bon Iver - "Towers"
Bon Iver dropped the latest video from his 2011 Grammy winning self titled album. “Towers” was directed by Nabil Elderkin who also worked with Justin for the "Holocene" video and continues with the theme of nature. Nabil had this to say of the process…
“When Justin sent me a breakdown of what certain parts/lines of the song meant to him I did my best to decode it and curate into something simple, and hopefully the viewer can take from it their own feeling of what the towers represent. It was shot up in Washington state, mostly on Indian-preserved land, and our actor’s name was Mystic. He seemed to be very tuned into the land, and when he said he was also willing to fall into the freezing cold ocean up there (seems a bit sharky too), I knew he was my guy.”

Video: Bon Iver 4AD/Jagjaguwar Sessions
Record labels 4AD and Jagjaguwar recently released a 25-minute Bon Iver performance, starring Justin Vernon and bandmate Sean Carey. The session took place in London's AIR studio and consist of songs from Bon Iver's 2011 self-titled album as well as 2009's Blood Bank EP release. What makes this special is that they are extremely simplified versions of the original tracks, using only 2 microphones & 2 baby grand pianos. I know some believed that Bon Iver was somewhat overproduced (auto-tuning, Beth/Rest sax insanity) so this is a welcome treat.

Video: Bon Iver: "Hinnom, TX"
I’m not the biggest fan of these deluxe edition re-releases, I mean they are great when an album has been out for ten years but when the band or label decide to re-releases one in the same 12 month period as the original drop it feels like a big F You to the fans who were there on day 1 buying it. On that note Jagjaguwar will be releasing a deluxe edition of Bon Iver's BNM'd album Bon Iver tomorrow, and the package includes track-by-track video accompaniments. Take a one such example for track "Hinnom, TX", directed by Isaac Gale and David Jensen, below…

Video: Bon Iver mini-documentary
In a new mini-documentary that clocks in just under seven minutes, you can find out a bit about the making of Bon Iver's self-titled 2nd studio album. The short film takes you inside Justin Vernon's home/recording studio, which he had totally revamped in-order to record the album. The piece comes courtesy of Spin.
