And like clockwork Hudson Mohawk shared the latest volume of his annual mixtape series and celebration of all things love, Slow Jams 8. This year HudMo even included his own take on the genre with an extra track in the download file titled ‘Forever 1", feat. Olivier Daysoul and Dorian Concept. You got to give it to the Glasgow producer he takes this shit seriously.

Hudson Mohawke’s 4-track EP Chimes is out Tuesday, Sept. 30 on Warp Records. You’ve probably heard the title track in one form or another but today we can share two more tracks from the release for your listening pleasure. “King Kong Beaver” is the stand out of the two in my opinion feeling like a more complete track then “Brainwave” which sounds more like an interlude between songs. Whatever the case the Scot always seamlessly melds the worlds of hip hop and electronic with his own special flair for the dramatic.

The duo of TNGHT dropped some new music today in the form of a one off track entitled “Acrylics.” The tune keeps in check with their established sound so you know it’s a thunderous joint with some pounding drums and nervous synths taking those key 90’s rave sounds and turning them upside down on their head. Video: H∆SHTAG$ Episode's 3 & 4 - “Don’t Call It Cloud Rap” + “Don’t Call It Beats” Documentary

Two new episodes of Red Bull Music Academy’s fantastic series of mini-documentaries entitled H∆SHTAG that explore the relationship of new music and the web.  The third installment looks at hip-hop, more specifically the micro-genre of Cloud Rap and features some heavy hitters associated with the sound including  MainAttrakionz, SpaceGhostPurrp, Flatbush Zombies and more who speak on their influences and how the internet has mutated a sound that was once determined by ones region. 

Episode 4 comes in strong with an all-star cast focusing on beats music and its origins in LA to the world-wide phenomenon it is today. Featuring interviews with the likes of Flying Lotus, TNGHT, Shlohmo, XXYXX, The Gaslamp Killer, Benji B, and more talking about how location, region and of course the internet has affected their genre and more specifically the opportunity for collaborations between beat makers and rappers living thousands of miles away from each other.

Listen: TNGHT – “R U Ready”

Some more music from end of the year favorites, this time it comes from powerhouse duo TNGHT. Apparently the producers uploaded this song to their Soundcloud a couple weeks ago, then Kanye West bought it from them and used it in a Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.  The beat is absolutely massive and features some horns that resemble those from their hit track “Higher Ground” Check it below…

Listen: Lunice – “BBC1 XTRA Mix”

Lunice put together an hour-long mix for BBC1 Xtra that features a mixture of hip hop, trap beats, electronic, pop and more dropping a TNGHT remix of “Clique” at around the 56-minute mark to end things off with a bang. 

Video: BBC Radio 1 Special, DJ Benji B & Composer Grant Windsor Reinterpret the best of 2012

DJ Benji B teamed up with writer and composer Grant Windsor for an hour long BBC Radio 1 special in which a 16-piece string ensemble play along side a variety of electronic and hip-hop tracks. Benji B handles the decks while a string section provides new layers to some of 2012′s biggest tunes and more. Rapper Angel Haze and one half of electronic duo, TNGHT, Lunice, teamed up for a new tune by the name of “Gimme That”  The duo came together via the folks at Yours Truly and the results are both a video of their process and a stream of the completed track.

Ripped from the BBC Radio 1 Show with Benji B on the 20th September 2012, what we got here is an old, unfinished and unreleased track by Hudson Mohawke entitled "Tingle". Plenty of low end bass surrounding a smorgasburg or percussion that sounds like it was created out of pots and pans.

Lunice has been a busy man; having only just released his joint project with Hudson Mohawke, TNGHT, the Canadian producer is involved with a new clothing line. Good Kids,  “dedicated to the progression of music and style in Montréal, and across the globe.” is a collaboration with a Montréal boutique, Off The Hook. In celebration , Lunice drops a new track and video called “Believe Dat”, which you might have caught at his Boiler Room set recently.
